"Strawberry Delight: Horticorp's
Munnar Farm Tourism Adventure"

Munnar, a picturesque hill station in the heart of India's Kerala state, has long been celebrated for its lush tea plantations and breathtaking landscapes. But now, a new attraction has taken root, captivating the hearts and taste buds of tourists - the Horticorp's Munnar farm, where strawberries steal the show.

Nestled along the enchanting Silent Valley Road, Horticorp's 2.5-acre farm has ushered in a delightful revolution in farm tourism. Their star attraction? The vibrant, plump strawberries that paint the farm in shades of red. Visitors, both young and old, are invited to become part of the harvest, plucking these juicy gems straight from the vine.

Horticorp launched this initiative with the aim of enchanting tourists, luring them into the world of farm-fresh delights. But strawberries are just the beginning. The farm is an oasis for cool-season vegetables, and visitors are encouraged to fill their baskets with fresh produce. The air is filled with the scent of herbs and the vibrant colors of various vegetables that thrive in this fertile patch of land.

One official, beaming with pride, shares that despite the lingering challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the farm has witnessed an overwhelming response from the public. It seems that the allure of strawberries and other farm-fresh treats is simply irresistible. The pandemic may have kept tourists away from this hill station in the past, but the farm has quickly become a shining beacon, drawing visitors back.

Strawberries, in particular, have become the farm's superstar. Visitors from near and far flock to taste these delectable fruits, and approximately 50 kilograms of strawberries are sold every day. The farm boasts two main varieties, Nebula and Camarosa, both of which deliver an explosion of flavors in every bite. Given the high market prices, a kilogram of strawberries here is a steal at just ₹600.

However, the adventure doesn't end with strawberry picking. A state-of-the-art fruit processing plant operates right on the farm, crafting an array of value-added products from strawberries and other fruits. Tourists have the chance to savor these freshly concocted delights, and a cup of strawberry juice, a crowd favorite, is available for a mere ₹40.

This remarkable project, designed to promote farming and agrotourism, was conceived by Horticorp in the heart of Munnar. Its primary goal? To capture the imagination of tourists and offer them a taste of nature's bounty.

Horticorp has played a pivotal role in propelling strawberry cultivation in the Munnar region, particularly in the cool-season vegetable cultivating village of Kanthallur. These two locales, Munnar and Kanthallur, stand as the epicenters of strawberry cultivation in the district, where the strawberries take a patient eight to nine months to grow and have now begun their much-anticipated harvest.

The Horticorp's Munnar farm, with its strawberries and lush vegetable bounty, is not just a visit; it's an experience. In a world slowly awakening from the grip of a pandemic, this farm has blossomed as a symbol of resilience, drawing visitors into a world of natural wonders and delicious discoveries.
